Our medical team is made up of 50+ clinicians from a range of medical specialties, united by a passion for sport and the benefits it brings.

To become part of our Head Injury & Concussion team, clinicians must have a minimum of 5 years post-qualification experience as well as demonstrable experience in both the sporting setting and with managing head injuries and concussions. Their experience is often in elite sport, with our current medical team having worked for, or currently working for numerous prestigious teams and events including those listed below, and more.

Whilst all clinicians already have a strong background in the management of head injuries and concussions, they must also undergo induction and training with Return2Play which includes bespoke education modules, 1-on-1 training with a senior doctor, shadowing and observation of clinics.  During their early months they are mentored by a senior doctor with regular case discussion. All of our clinical team are able to refer into our ‘complex case clinics’ run by our senior doctors. Regular in-house continued professional development (CPD) is provided to ensure clinicians remain at the cutting edge of contemporary concussion management.

As with most things in life, experience matters.  The average Return2Play clinician case-load is just over 500 concussion appointments per year, with a minimum requirement of 200.

All of our doctors are/have:

• GMC Registered
• 5 years post-qualification
• Demonstrable experience in the sporting setting and with managing head injuries
• Appropriate medical indemnity
• Minimum caseload of 200 appointments per year via Return2Play
• Provided with training and ongoing CPD by Return2Play
• Provided with internal and external referral pathways by Return2Play
